I can attribute a great deal of my early programming education to hand-typing BASIC and assembly listings printed in magazines and books of the time. I recently stumbled on the Internet Archive’s collection of these resources and I again found myself hand-typing code examples and comments into a CBM prg Studio project.
I’ve discovered that though time consuming, the process is helping me again to focus on each each line of code and forcing me to reckon with the details. The time spent on the endeavor seems even more valuable if I can share the results and maybe in a small way help with the preservation of this information.
I intend to continue to contribute these examples. Check here if you might be interested is using them.
